After months of rumors, the BR game type for BF6 is finally launching. The latest rumors suggesting its debut would coincide with Season 1 were true. Fans can jump into the mode starting very soon.
Launch Season Adding a New Map, Style, and Arsenal
Together with the battle royale release, Season 1 is also kicking off. It brings a brand-new arena, a new mode, and new weapons. On top of that, this new sector is being introduced. A embedded trailer will become available at go-live, providing players a taste of what's to come.
Complimentary Access Enables Battle Royale Open to Any Player
Maybe the biggest news is that the battle royale mode will be free-to-play. Similar to other offerings, you won't require to purchase the base game to participate. Some players have already tried alpha versions of the game type. These playtests were held in Battlefield Labs, which the team described as their most ambitious fan involvement project.

Such first reactions from testers have been overwhelmingly favorable. Naturally, the mode may have been adjusted over the past few weeks in terms of balancing and speed. But, early signs are promising that Redsec could be a true rival to leading titles. Many are expecting that the most effective firearms from the original Battlefield 6 will carry over in the battle royale.
