The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A charity drive is aiming to send a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's defiant core message.

“It occupies a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than spend my life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a solidarity show held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of performers contributing to Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the industry. All participated in the September show, which successfully generated a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The single showcases a fusion of the heritage language with new English lyrics.

The group managing the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be distributed to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson commented. “We will pursue whatever we can get. Obviously, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was described as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think the significant factor is first of all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
