Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a California Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in the state of California aged 55.

His passing was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the parent company of Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The celebrated game designer lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a freeway in LA on this past Sunday, according to.

"We are facing an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," a representative from Electronic Arts commented.
